Lee House in Chipping hosted the 17th annual celebration of CAFOD’s work here and overseas on 4th July.
CAFOD Lancaster and CAFOD Salford joined together to celebrate 50 years of the Fast Days, with our guest speakers Peter Grimshaw, former CAFOD Lancaster Diocesan Manager.
And Chris White and Louise Cross – two ‘gaplains’ who shared their experience of CAFOD in Nigeria as apart of the ‘Step into the Gap’ year.
The liturgy was lead by young people from across the diocese: from Blackpool, Lancaster, and we were especially pleased to welcome children from St Francis Catholic Primary School in Goosnargh.
The sun shone for the barbecue, where we enjoyed good food and good company.
Our thanks go to the Howsons for hosting us (again!) and to all the volunteers who beavered quietly away in the background to make the day happen. As ever, it was a great team effort – another enjoyable and memorable afternoon.
And special thanks to all who attended, who support the work of CAFOD with their prayer, and through their actions, showing a true sense of just one world.
