CAFOD Day

We are pleased to invite you to our CAFOD Day, on Saturday 4th September 2010, from 12 noon to 4pm, at Tabor Retreat Centre on Sharoe Green Lane in Fulwood in Preston. It is an open day for all to hear first hand of CAFOD’s work overseas and at home.  A simple bread and soup lunch will be available at 12 noon.

Sarah Smith-Pearse, from CAFOD’s Latin America team in London, has plenty experience in how CAFOD’s programmes operate on the ground overseas. She has recently visited El Salvador and Ethiopia.

Lucy Hurn, from CAFOD’s Campaigns Team in London, will be leading a workshop outlining CAFOD’s current campaign ‘Act on Poverty’ which focuses on continuing to put pressure on the government to honour promises made.

James Tyrrell, from CAFOD Liverpool, has a background of working with young people and will lead a workshop to inspire CAFOD’s young leaders.

Bernadette McIntosh works to support CAFOD’s volunteers around the country. We are pleased she is joining us to lead a workshop to show how to strengthen CAFOD within the parish community not only for the good of the overseas work, but also in strengthening a sense of community here.
