CAFOD Unplugged in Furness

CAFOD Unplugged: a series of evening discussions

So many more people around the diocese are becoming engaged with CAFOD’s work overseas, either through their parish, college or workplace and making a real difference.

To support this level of interest we are presenting a series of evening workshops to unpack CAFOD, to reveal the breadth and depth of the amazing work this global organisation does. We have seen a real thirst to connect to the ‘bigger picture’ and to understand the global dimension of development. Through these talks, we aim to take this forward in the context of who we are as a faith-based organisation.

The meetings take place every Tuesday evening in July, starting at 7.30pm and finish at 9pm.  They’ll take place at Holy Family Parish Hall, Ostley Bank, Newbarns, Barrow-in-Furness, LA13 9LN.

Who? What? How? Why?

We’ll cover areas such as what underpins our work, how we communicate our work and why we do so differently to other organisations.  Our roots, how CAFOD began and how it continues.  Its funding – where it comes from and where it goes.  The nuts of bolts of our programmes oversesa – looking at CAFOD’s work in responding to the everchanging climate, our work with HIV and AIDS and other areas of our work.  And finally, how you can get involved – and the effect that has.

The workshops allow room for discussion and questions, with plenty of resources available. You will be most welcome.

Please could you let us know if you’d lik e ot come along? It’ll help with our preparations. You can either phone us at 01772 733310 or email at lancaster@cafod.org.uk

We are grateful for what you already do for CAFOD. Your support speaks volumes, not only to us, but to our sisters and brothers overseas.
