Ride the Lights – Bike for Boreholes for Ethiopia
Be part of Team CAFOD
Tuesday, 30th August 2011, 7pm start
(full joining instructions on registration)
We are pleased to announce details of this year’s Ride the Lights for CAFOD in Blackpool.
Join Team CAFOD, preview the world-famous Blackpool Illuminations, and help raise funds to address the chronic need for water in the communities of Arato and Maytsedo in northern Ethiopia.
For more information with further details of this specific programme, click here: Project Summary Ethiopia
With 20 places for Team CAFOD, we will be asking each team member to try and raise a minimum of £50.00 in sponsorship, to contribute to the funding of a borehole in Ethiopia. Without fresh water life grinds to a halt, but when you add fresh water, people, land and life can flourish.
Ride the Lights is not a bike race, it’s a fun and free bike ride open to all cyclists. Under 16s are welcome, accompanied by an adult. Last year’s Ride the Lights for CAFOD was well supported by cyclists from within the diocese and beyond, young and not-so-young – a sociable evening with a positive outcome.
