50th Anniversary Mass

STOP PRESS!!!
The afternoon at Lee House following the Mass has been relocated to the Parish Hall at St Wilfrid’s Catholic Church in Longridge as the grounds at Lee House are flooded.

We invite you to join us as we mark CAFOD’s 50th Anniversary together with our friends in Salford Diocese on Sunday, 24th June 2012.

At a special Mass of Thanksgiving and Celebration starting at 11am at St Wilfrid’s Catholic Church, Deby Road, Longridge, Preston, PR3 3JT, we will mark this milestone remembering the tremendous difference our Catholic communities have made over the last 50 years to the lives of countless people overseas.

We are delighted that both the Bishop of Lancaster, Michael Campbell OSA and the Bishop of Salford, Terence Brain will be concelebrating.

Children from St Wilfrid’s Catholic Primary School in Longridge, St Francis’ Catholic Primary School in Goosnargh and St Mary’s Catholic Primary School in Chipping will be playing their part in the Mass, as will young people from St Cecilia’s Catholic High School in Longridge and Cardinal Newman College in Preston.  It promises to be a colourful and joyful celebration.

After the Mass, the afternoon continues down the road at Lee House, Chipping Road, Thornley, Preston, PR3  2TB, with a light lunch, which is provided.

Amy and Emma

Two of our young people from the Step into the Gap programme, Emma from Lancaster Diocese and Amy from Salford Diocese will share something of their experience of CAFOD including their recent visit to Ghana.

The afternoon will be rounded off with tea and birthday cake.

We hope you can join us!
