Marianne runs the London Marathon

The big day approaches for Marianne Neary as she prepares to run the London Marathon this Sunday for CAFOD.

The London Marathon organisers are expecting more than 36,000 runners and 650,000 spectators to line the race route.

This run is among the most high-profile marathons in the world and the route winds its way through central London, passing famous landmarks such as Big Ben, Buckingham Palace and the Tower of London. Prince Harry will be there to hand out medals to the winners.

Other runners joining Marianne include Mo Farah, Ed Balls and Katherine Jenkins.  It promises to be a memorable day.

Marianne’s not new to running, having tackled shorter distances, but this will be her first marathon.

If you’d like to sponsor Marianne in her Marathon run for CAFOD this Sunday, you can do so through the Just Giving website here.

Sponsors are also invited to guess the time she’ll take and note it next to their donation or on Marianne’s Facebook page. A mystery prize awaits the person with the closest guess.

We wish Marianne a good run, and a great day – we’ll all be thinking of you and sending over steady supplies of energy!  Go Marianne, go….. and thank you thank you thank you!
