Did you know? (26)

Did you know…… 8 out of 10 people who live in Tigray, northen Ethiopia, are farmers? Life is difficult. With little rainfall, drought is a real threat. CAFOD partner Daughters of Charity works with women who struggle to find enough food to feed their families. The impact of a gift of a cow to a family can be dramatic, providing plenty of nutritious milk.  Butter and cheese can also be made from the milk and sold at market, bringing in an extra income. At Harvest we give thanks for what we have and share with people that don’t have enough.

This Harvest Fast Day, Friday 3 October, make a place at your table  for families around the world who don’t have enough to eat.

We provide a weekly ‘CAFOD fact’ as a short ‘Did You Know?’ to parishes across the Lancaster Diocese, which they print in their parish newsletters. If you would be interested in receiving this weekly email, let us know at CAFOD Lancaster and we’ll send it directly to you too – email: lancaster@cafod.org.uk
