Did you know? (33)

Did you know…1 December is World AIDS Day?  Poverty is at the root of HIV and AIDS, making people more vulnerable in many ways. In developing countries people have to pay for blood tests and drugs, and often cannot afford them. In Zambia, CAFOD funds HIV home-care where volunteers and nurses visit people in the community who are struggling to cope. They help with practical tasks like feeding the family, fetching water and cleaning as well as emotional support.  With your support we continue to bring hope to thousands.

We provide a weekly ‘CAFOD fact’ as a short ‘Did You Know?’ to parishes across the Lancaster Diocese, which they print in their parish newsletters. If you would be interested in receiving this weekly email, let us know at CAFOD Lancaster and we’ll send it directly to you too – email: lancaster@cafod.org.uk
