Did you know (49)?

Did you know, that CAFOD is supporting Christians, Yazidis and Shia Muslims who have fled their homes in Iraq, in fear of the extremist group Islamic State? Today, families are seeking shelter in empty houses, schools, clinics, mosques, church compounds and abandoned buildings. In one such house, around 100 families are crammed together, with pieces of wood and cardboard creating makeshift partitions to separate the families. CAFOD is working with its local Church partners to provide food, emergency supplies, shelter and counselling to thousands of people in desperate need.

We provide a weekly ‘CAFOD fact’ as a short ‘Did You Know?’ to parishes across the Lancaster Diocese, which they print in their parish newsletters. If you would be interested in receiving this weekly email, let us know at CAFOD Lancaster and we’ll send it directly to you too – email: lancaster@cafod.org.uk
