Did you know? (53)

Did you know…CAFOD has been working in El Salvador since 1974? From 1980 to 1992, El Salvador suffered a violent civil war – around 75,000 were killed. Although more democratic today, there remain serious challenges of inequality and extreme levels of violence, along with the ongoing threat of earthquakes and hurricanes. CAFOD’s work there today focuses on four areas: 1) agriculture, to help farmers increase their crops, 2) preparing communities to respond effectively when faced with a natural disasters 3) health provision, and 4) creating peace, healing the scars of the civil war.

Blessed Oscar Romero, pray for us.
