HIV work: On World AIDS Day and every day

Did you know…in Zimbabwe, Mashambanzou is a CAFOD partner which ultimately aims to see HIV-free communities through empowerment, care and support? Among their projects is a children’s day care centre, where children whose families have been affected by HIV and AIDS can play safely. For Mashambanzou, educating and empowering children, is crucial to break the cycle of poverty, so that children learn to value their potential and are able to build a better life for themselves. We pray for people affected by HIV and AIDS, and especially for those excluded from our communities through discrimination and prejudice.

We provide a weekly ‘CAFOD fact’ as a short ‘Did You Know?’ to parishes across the Lancaster Diocese, which they print in their parish newsletters. If you would be interested in receiving this weekly email, let us know at CAFOD Lancaster and we’ll send it directly to you too – email: lancaster@cafod.org.uk
