CAFOD in the community

Did you know……CAFOD partner and Caritas member Catholic Relief Services rebuilt Nabila School in Meulaboh, Indonesia, and it reopened in 2007? 78 children go to the kindergarten now. Before the school was a wooden structure and it was washed away in the tsunami of 2004. Now it has a reputation as the best kindergarten in the town. CAFOD is there in a crisis and there in the months and years that follow too, helping people rebuild their lives and prepare for whatever the future holds.

CAFOD is the official aid agency of the Catholic Church in England and Wales and part of Caritas International.

Across the world we bring hope and compassion to poor communities, standing side by side with them to end poverty and injustice. We work with people of all faiths and none.

Inspired by Scripture and Catholic Social Teaching, and the experiences and hopes of people living in poverty, CAFOD works for a safe, sustainable and peaceful world.
